Getting Around

Getting around the city of Saranda is both simple and convenient. With many areas pedestrianised, walking is often the top choice when it comes to exploring. Saranda is a pretty compact and it’s easy to go around by foot. The Promenade is the most charming area of the city to explore on foot, brimming with independent boutiques and a lot of bars and restaurants. You can get around by a variety of methods; rent a bicycle, hop on one of the urban buses or catch a taxi. By alternating bus, bike, boat and car, you will optimize your trip! The choice is yours!

City Buses of Saranda

Buses are available for your trips in Saranda city and its surroundings. The city’s bus network is efficient and easy to use. Buses and minibuses are one of the cheapest ways to get around and out of Saranda. There is an hourly bus service from the centre of Saranda that heads along the coast and then onwards towards the  Ksamil island, terminating in Butrint one of Albania’s best historical and archaeological attractions. The buses operate from the early morning until the late afternoon. Tickets can be purchased in cash from the busman. 

Taxi

If you are out late, or travelling a longer distance with heavy luggage, the city has a selection of taxi options.  The best place to flag a taxi is next to the port, at Nëne Tereza square, close to Hotel Butrint and the southern end of the promenade. Taxis are relatively cheap in Saranda, comfortable and a reliable way to get around. 

Boat Tours

Travelling by boat is arguably one of the most scenic ways to see the city and to explore the beaches in the Albanian Riviera. Many travel agencies in Saranda offer daily trips from Sarande- Corfu- Sarande, and other types of traveling including,  solo cruises, private tours with yacht with several stops on the way to enjoy the views, beaches and have the opportunity to swim or snorkel.
